Armed Forces Giving Day
Date: May 18, 2019
The Returning Veterans Project (RVP) connects post-9/11 veterans, service members, and their families with the mental and physical health services needed to withstand the unique challenges of military life. We need you to ensure this free, life-saving support remains available to our service members, especially those coming home this year.

You Can Help Service Members Thrive
- Military deployments are getting longer and more frequent
- 69% of military families recently surveyed think the speed and intensity of military actions are putting an unacceptable level of stress on service members and families, leading to unhealthy work-life balance1
- Today’s service members are also experiencing more stress and more long-term injuries than veterans of other eras2
There hasn’t been a day that goes by that I haven’t thought of some tragedy I experienced…for a long time I could not think about Iraq without having a flood of negative memories wash over me.

You can help returning service members connect with free, confidential mental health counseling, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic, and naturopathic services to manage their stress and pain.

Invest in the Health and Wellbeing of Military Families
- Military spouses, partners, and children face isolating separations and stresses that many civilians don’t understand3
- Children in military families are experiencing more mental health challenges than their civilian peers4
- Finding health services is challenging, especially when day-to-day life is already overwhelming
- Cost, convenience, and fear of judgment are preventing many service members from getting the care they need
Thanks to the great help I received from a marriage and family counselor through Returning Veterans Project, my marriage is doing great. In fact, I’m proud to say that we recently celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary! – Steven Philbrick, RVP Client
You can help remove barriers to care and provide easy access to critical health services.

Fill the Gap - Give Military Families Access to Support
You can help the Returning Veterans Project on Saturday, May 18:
- Tell people why they should support RVP using your Facebook account
- Share RVP Facebook posts throughout the day
- Tag the veterans, service members, and their families in your life and encourage them to join you in supporting RVP
- Make your own gift on May 18 and share why you support RVP via your own personal social media
As the last strands of what once was my life finally were coming completely unwound, the Veteran’s Administration referred me to the Returning Veteran’s Project. With compassion and selfless love, physical and soulful healing, men and women of the community were standing solidly to tell me, ‘We are here, we are with you and we will not leave you behind. – Anonymous RVP Client
You can ensure our veteran and military communities have a trusted source for their family’s health care and for themselves. Your donation of $50, $100, $250, or ANY amount you are able to give will connect service members, veterans, and their families with life-saving mental and physical health support.

Thank you for being a vital part of the support network our military families desperately need!
