What You Will Learn:
This presentation will address clinical work in a case of military sexual abuse. Participants will have opportunity to ask questions, bring up issues and clinical questions in the training regarding their work.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the difference between simple and complex PTSD.
- Be more aware of counter transference in sexual abuse cases.
- Be more aware of the differences between men and women’s responses to sexual abuse.
- Have a better sense of how the role of shame plays a part in treatment and outcome.
- Understand the difference between individual and group therapy.
CE Faculty Dr. Robert Cavasher
- Doctorate from Boston College in Clinical Psychology, 1988.
- Military Veteran, U.S. Navy 1966 - 1970.
- RVP founding member and member of the MST Committee at VA-Portland.
- Licensed in Oregon since 1994 and also licensed from 2008-2009 in Missouri.
- Served as clinical director for the State of Missouri’s Prison program for sex offenders for two years.
- Served on the Oregon Psychological Association’s Professional Ethics Committee for four years.
