What You Will Learn:
The purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with knowledge and skills to implement Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); an evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). CPT has been endorsed by the Institute of Medicine as a first line treatment for PTSD, and related disorders, with individuals who have experienced all types of trauma including sexual assault, accidents, natural disasters and combat. You will learn about the symptoms and theory underlying CPT. You will also gain knowledge and skills required to implement CPT with special populations. This workshop will include a didactic presentation, role-plays and videos to ensure the participants understand the theory, research and session by session information needed to conduct CPT.
Completion of the following free online training is recommended prior to attending the training.
In order to achieve CBT provider status and more thoroughly integrate CPT into your practice, six months of CPT consultation is recommended. Please read more information here about how to achieve CBT provider status.
