Try Something New
Hoping for a different and challenging experience?
Orientation and trainings will equip you to deliver tailored care!
As providers, we sometimes get in a routine of seeing similar types of patients with similar types of challenges. Bringing new and unique perspectives into your practice can be invigorating, but it can also push you outside of your comfort zone.
Connecting with clients who have different experiences from your usual caseload can be challenging. And we know that military acronyms, attitudes, and vernacular can quickly make you feel in over your head.
But at the Returning Veterans Project, you don’t have to know the ins and outs of military culture or have served in the military to make a difference. We’ll be with you every step of the way to help build your knowledge of military culture as you serve RVP Clients.
When you volunteer with RVP, you get one-on-one support, orientation, and ongoing training to help you understand the unique challenges of military life. We’ll give you the tools you need to feel the reward of working with veterans, service members, and military families.

“Volunteering with RVP showed me an interplay of personal stories that I wasn’t aware of in terms of the impact of service on the individuals and the family group. It expanded my compassion, empathy, and understanding.”
